RUSHSYLVANIA, OHIO | January 13, 2022 – In partnership with Boxboro Systems, EUROAMERICA is pleased to announce the release of the Second-Generation RibEye for the WorldSID-50th ATD. The Second-Generation RibEye expands upon the innovative capabilities of the First Generation WorldSID RibEye with the following improvements:
- 100 times faster downloads
- 3 minutes of data collection to circular or linear buffers
- writes to flash memory and dynamic memory concurrently
- new shoulder pads with internal structures to prevent the pads from falling into the shoulder rib and blocking signals
- component masses adjusted to meet thorax weight and center-of-gravity specifications
- emergency battery pack including fuel gauge to display charge level and voltage
A total of seven Second Generation WorldSID RibEye units have been in use by NHTSA since April 2021. A NHTSA public meeting was held in October 2021 which included presentations on the WorldSID 50th with RibEye. A video of day 3 of the meeting, Advanced Crash Test Dummies, can be found here. In conjunction with the Second-Generation WorldSID RibEye release, Boxboro Systems has also made available the RibEye 7.0 Software. The 7.0 Software supports all RibEye models, including the new Second Generation WorldSID RibEye.
